We’re seeing a big uplift in people wanting or needing to employ an approval process for their travel bookings. So, naturally, Episode 4 of the Zeno Travel Tech Talks Podcast is about the approvals functionality with Zeno.
Here’s a recap of Serko Customer Optimisation Manager Leonard Joshua and Senior Technology Solutions Consultant Jess Ogley’s discussion on all things approvals.
The uptick in active approvals
When COVID halted almost all travel, we found ourselves in a landscape filled with passive approvals (a passive approval means no manual approval is needed).
Once travel picked up and factors like budget constraints came to the fore, we saw an uptick in requests from corporates and TMCs who now needed to integrate active approvals into their processes.
Examples of common approval processes
Within Zeno, we have three main approval processes.
- Bookings that do not require any approval, with everything happening in a passive manner.
- Every single booking requires an approval.
- If some aspects of travel need approvals and some don’t, we make it work for the needs of the organization - tailoring the software seamlessly with your operations.
Approvals within the budget feature
Let’s say you’ve booked a flight that fits nicely into your budget, but then it’s not available or the price increases. This kicks off an approvals workflow in Zeno that saves countless back and forths and explanations - which by the time you make your way through, the price may have increased again.
The booker might be able to put in a reason as well to say, ‘Hey, I had to book this particular flight or this particular journey sector just because of this reason’, giving more context to the approver and ultimately reducing friction in the workplace.
Streamline your approval process with paperless solutions at Zeno
Every business is different, and the way that approval processes should be implemented will depend on the organizational needs.
That's the point of Zeno - to make what is seemingly a complicated process, seamless. We work with everybody very closely to help them succeed.
